Human Powered Mileage

It's time to rack up a few miles on these feet again. More details soon.

A couple of summers ago I blogged my human powered miles to see how quickly I could get to 1000. Pretty darn fast in the summer it turns out. Well, this is the other season so let's see how long it takes now.

November 6, trail running, 7 miles. The long trail at Ha Ha Tonka is a local favorite of mine and it was time for an early trail season revisitation. The good? Running into cute trail girls. The bad? Doing that while sporting knee high socks and a running shirt with permanent nipple stains from a couple of seasons of Body Glide. But I'm there to run, and run I did, albeit intermittently. There was lots of walking on this one, and I won't post the time. I will just say that it was more than 50% running, but probably not by much. It's early in the season and I didn't do much this summer. Sue me.

Lessons learned after the run-the frozen custard place in Camdenton has changed their recipe, and not for the better. And even after a couple of years, the radio stations in mid Missouri have yet to grow weary of repeatedly playing Bad Romance by Lady GaGa. I hate to end on that, but I will.

November 7th, run-bike-run, 3-5-1 miles. Total for running is 11 miles, biking is 5 miles, the whole total is 16 miles. Just 984 left to go! Treated myself to a trip out to the unpaved section of the Frisco Highline Trail, which is now some 10 miles further away than it used to be and requires dealing with Willardians. Fortunately it was a Sunday morning and all the good decent folks of Willard were in church like they should be and not on the trail. Saw one runner the whole time. Not much exciting, did a 3 mile run, followed by a 5 mile bike, followed by a 1 mile run with plenty of walking. Heard a lot of bad music. I think Pink and Keysha should fight to the death. Then we shoot the winner and feed her to bears. Now I'm about to relax and enjoy some football. Ah, fall.

November 7th, continued. 2 more miles biking. Had a bit of Chianti in me and went out for a bit of climbing, obviously I went someplace 1 mile-ish away. The details will remain necessarily sketchy. Beautiful evening though, hope everyone enjoyed this wonderful weekend. Total is 18 miles.
