Walking, 2 miles. The total is 55 miles. Know why it doesn't say running? Yesterday's sprain is still somewhat swollen so it's a slower day. I've been bummed to watch my vacation come and go without a car after an accident last week. I'm happy noone was hurt, but there were so many exciting plans for hiking and trail running and time with friends that got put on the backburner. So I've been bumming rides when I can but mostly sitting around the house. Today I got bored and just went for a walk up to the airport and around the park. I would like to move at least one mile a day every day next year, whether it be running, biking, hiking or whatever. Happy New Year to all.

Running, 3 miles. Sprained the bejeezers out of my ankle at the 1.5 mile mark. That's why it doesn't say 5 up there. Trail running, love it. The totals are 46 miles running, 53 miles total.

5 miles of trail running. Yahoo! That makes 50 miles, with 43 of them running. Not exactly lighting up the board during the wintertime.
Took my couch-ridden self out to Fellows Lake to run the 5 mile trail. Let's be honest, I only ran about half and walked the other. Carrying a bit of winter weight here, and the once a week thing is not conducive to speed. However, it was fun. The lake was beautiful, the trail ends at the marina with a lovely view over the water. It was still and blue and love-ely.

45 miles total, with 38 miles running.
Has it really been three weeks? Wow. I could pretend that my interruption of internet was to blame and that I ran a ten miler every day, but I'm honest. I have hardly moved from either work or couch in several weeks of head colds and tv watching. But today, I felt great. And I found a new trail on the NE corner of town, a trail whose location I will never divulge except to those who run it with me. And I got to break in some sticky soled new shoes.
It was a nice three miler on a newly, sort of, discovered unpaved trail with mile markers. Yay. I can now keep track of how far I've run in the woods. I say sort of newly discovered because the first time I saw this trail, it was from the air in an irresponsibly low flown airplane as I scouted out new places to run. Only a year and a half later, I finally drove out to try it.

Walking, 2 miles. Adding it up, that's 47 miles total.
I had originally planned to take a day off and go for a hike up Indian Creek in Arkansas. It's a crazy adventurous hike involving lots of climbing, some wading, and just, in general, clunking around through a small canyon off of the Buffalo. Unfortunately I woke up with a pretty nasty cold and just bummed around the house until after dark when I took a nice walk for two miles. A long leadup for a short walk.
